Freshman Reading Camp

Chaminade Students Entering 9th Grade

Our newest Flyers partaking in the Freshman Program will read and discuss Paulo Coelho’s classic novel The Alchemist, in which a shepherd boy named Santiago embarks on a quest to find hidden treasure. During this two-week program, students will complete their mandatory summer work for The Alchemist, practice various reading and writing strategies, and get to know their future Chaminade classmates and teachers.
