Chaminade Students Entering 9th Grade

Our newest Flyers partaking in the Freshman Reading Camp will read and discuss Paulo Coelho’s classic novel The Alchemist, in which a shepherd boy named Santiago embarks on a quest to find hidden treasure. During this four-day program, students will complete their mandatory summer reading work for The Alchemist, practice various close reading and annotating strategies, and prepare for the in-class assessment in September, all while getting to know their future Chaminade classmates and teachers.
